Epic Alaska once again beckons Feast-goers for 2017. Come and enjoy an exceptionally millennial setting while worshipping God with your fellow brethren. Often referred to as the “last frontier”, Anchorage provides an opportunity to take in some spectacular views of God’s creation on all sides without even having to leave the city, or even your accommodation!
Nestled in among wilderness, mountain ranges, and the Cook Inlet, Alaska’s largest city promises an up-close encounter with nature while still providing city conveniences and attractions, such as the Anchorage Museum. Not to mention, one can find some of the best seafood in the world here in Alaska, such as fresh-caught halibut and salmon from local restaurants.
This year we will be staying at the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel and Spa, with standard rooms starting at only $112/night (plus tax), including complimentary breakfast for two, parking and WiFi. These discounted rates will allow most everyone to stay on-site with daily church services and extended opportunity to fellowship.
For the adventurous at heart, Alaska allows you to get “up close and personal” with God’s creation, whether by foot, bike, kayak or even the air. Chugach National Park contains nearly a half million acres to explore, right at the doorstep of Anchorage. Some of the most beautiful scenery in the world begins only five miles south of Anchorage as you drive along the narrow “Turnagin Arm” hemmed in by dramatic mountains rising right out of the water. Only one word can describe the scenery: SPECTACULAR! This is a photographer’s paradise.
Have you ever seen a glacier? Alaska has a high concentration of glaciers, sixty of them within fifty miles of Anchorage! One of the many family activities we hope to include is a scenic catamaran cruise to Blackstone Bay, home of spectacular glaciers. So, whether it be a tram ride up into the mountains at Alyeska resort, a train ride through rugged wilderness, or a cruise among the glaciers, there will be many ways to take in God’s creation during FOT 2017.
Anchorage is hemmed in by the Chugach Mountains and enjoys a strong warming effect from the Pacific Ocean currents, and is therefore relatively mild. Stay tuned for more details, and be sure to click the “Activities” and “Accommodations” tabs on the Festival Microsite for information on planned activities as we get closer to Feast registration in the spring.
See you in Alaska for the Feast of Tabernacles and the Last Great Day, 2017!

And He said to them,
"Go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature."
