Baguio City, Philippines

Welcome to Baguio City! It is a unique city set on the steep slopes of the Cordillera

Mountains in the northern part of the Philippines. The mountains give it delightful vistas but, importantly, they also bring the cooling breezes which make Baguio a favoured holiday spot in this tropical land. The mountains are clad with trees which give Baguio the nickname, City of Pines.

Baguio City has many interesting sites and experiences within easy reach. Very popular with locals and visitors is downtown Burnham Park. The park has gardens to stroll in and a lagoon with paddle-boats. You can hire bicycles and docile horses. Because of its spectacular mountain setting, in the Baguio locale are many tourist spots which utilize the beautiful views available and also offer opportunities to get needed exercise. There are many restaurants serving a variety of western and Asian dishes. Local markets and food halls in the malls widen the culinary opportunities. In the hinterland around Baguio are waterparks with spring-fed hot and cold water pools. You can tour the tunnels of a working gold mine or visit the beautiful beaches of the South China Sea.

The best way to get to Baguio is to fly into Manila and then ride one of the many inexpensive, air-conditioned, comfortable coaches up to Baguio. The bus ride takes about six hours and will itself introduce you to many new aspects of Filipino culture and environment.

About two hundred members will attend the Feast in Baguio and attendance is wide open to international visitors. All services will be in English and members will make you very welcome. Filipino culture places emphasis on hospitality and fellowship. Festival activities will be planned to enhance your fellowship opportunities.
