This beautiful seaside resort is well-known for its peaceful atmosphere. The warm Indian Ocean washes onto miles of unspoilt white beaches on either side of the Goukou River, providing ideal conditions for watersports of every conceivable kind.
Stillbay is host to a number of interesting archaeological sites, including ancient fish traps thought to have been built by early ancestors of the Khoi people of the Southern Cape, and a shell landfill that has been carbon dated to around 1000 BC.
Another archaeological site is situated in a group of caves at Blombos cave, about 12 kilometers from Stillbay.
The venue for the 2017 Feast of Tabernacles for the Western Cape, South Africa, will be Stillbay.
Also known as the Bay of Sleeping Beauty, Stillbay is a town along the southern coast of South Africa, about 4 hours by car from Cape Town. The nearest international airport is Cape Town, with local flights to both Cape Town and George (about 1.5 hours from Stillbay).
Inverroche distillery is located just outside Stillbay, where a unique and fascinating experience is offered to visitors. Several gin tastings and distillery tours are held daily and visitors are introduced to three elegant fynbos gins made according to traditional recipes. The classic flavours of citrus, spices and juniper berry are present but top and undertones of fynbos add to and complement the character of the spirit.
Stillbay offers a variety of accommodation ranging from self-catering, hotels to B&Bs.
The venue for Services during the Feast will be the Stillbay Community Hall.
All attending the Feast need to make their own booking arrangements. However, if you need assistance, please contact Mr John Laggar at +27-82-731-9751, +27-74-344-1103 or by e-mail at [email protected].
